Shillong Municipal Board

Meghalaya Urban Development Agency(MUDA)
In May 1991, MUDA was formed and registered as a Society under the Meghalaya Societies Registration Act, 1983. The object of the agency is to plan and help the local bodies in the utilization of schemes related to the urban poor for improvement of their physical environment, socio-economic condition and quality of life. The organization is to function as an agency to monitor the proper utilization of fund, and assess the project and manage the schemes relating to urban poor. MUDA is a branch of the Shillong municipal board, which includes the MUDA complex as well. MUDA has its office in the capital, Shillong and supervises all work of the state from its Shillong office.
