Laitumkhrah
Laitumukhrah commonly known as ‘Laimu’ is one of the most happening places in Shillong. It has a number of restaurants, churches, shops, colleges and schools. Laitumukhrah is situated in the heart of the Shillong city. It has a market that provides fresh vegetable, beef, pork and chicken and other necessary stuffs. The Nazerth Hospital, one of the oldest hospitals in Shillong, is located in Laitumukhrah.One can visit the "Holy Ground" cemetery located here. The famous Ramakrishna Mission, Shillong is also located here. Laitumukhrah also houses the famous age old sweet shop "Kalpatru", that offers a wide variety of sweets. The North East India's Archdiocese of the Catholic Church and the Cathedral of the Mary Help is also located in Laitumkhrah. Laitumkhrah is near to Police Bazar and can be easily accessed in 10 minutes for Rs. 5-10 and is one of the most cleanest places in Shillong.

Police bazaar is a renowned market area located in Shillong. It is one of the most important shopping centres in Shillong.
