Lady Hydari Park
Lady Hydari Park is one of the tourist spots in Shillong. The park is named after the first lady of the province, the wife of the first Indian Governor of Assam Sir Akbari Hydari. The park stretches over a kilometer of four hectares area. A specialty of this park is that it is landscaped in Japanese style.
The park has a mini zoo and a garden along with a play area for children. The mini zoo houses fauna of Meghalaya like the hornbill, leopard cat, slow Loris, deer, etc. there are a good variety of animals, reptiles and birds in this mini zoo. The Deer Park, a special section for the deer is a sight to see. There is also a water body leading from the mini zoo housing pelicans and other water birds.

Matilang Park
A Popular Park of Shillong, Meghalya The Park is located in Upper Shillong. This park is constructed on the other side of the Elephants Falls and it gives a good view of the fall. The park is big, and an open area. There are also stalls in this place selling variety of food.
It is a park big enough for children to play around, and providing them with swings, see saw, slider etc and it is also less crowded with a very peaceful nature where you get to relax with the pleasant weather and also with the sound of the fall beside it.
